Update on Join the fight to protect London's drinking water against HS2

Update on Saving Colne Valley

Dear Backers thank you for all your support and good wishes. This summer has been very hard in the Colne Valley Hillingdon. HS2 have relentlessly pursued they aims of land possession, land clearance and heavy engineering impacts to chalk aquifer below the ground at Harvil Road.

Two, one day hearings took place in the high court chancery division. This resulted in 30 people being named as defendants on the order. The area of land covered by the order being substantially increased and an intension to seek costs against named defendants was recorded.

At the same time freedom of Information requests have revealed the water risk assessments, being relied on by HS2 at Harvil Road, do not include an assessment of the underground pollution plume within the aquifer or the landfill site up stream. To provide an independent view of this, my solicitor commissioned an independent water chemist report. My barrister has been negotiating on my behalf with HS2 solicitors.

I am very grateful to my legal team for their ongoing support and welcome any contribution to the legal costs.

The damage to the natural environment within the water supply zone is increasing but so too is the awareness that this is the wrong direction for Hillingdon and the UK.

Please share this information and support if you can. Many Thanks.
